2015+ Yamaha R1 / R1S / R1M | C2 Tail Mount

Updated: Jul 8, 2024

Estimated Install Time: 2 Minutes

Tools needed: None

Camera Angle: Rider rear follow, rear

This guide teaches you how to install the C2 Tail Mount on your 2015+ Yamaha YZF R1/R1S/R1M.

Step 1

Thoroughly clean your mounting surface with the provided alcohol wipe.

Step 2

Peel off the red 3M adhesive film.

Step 3

Tilt the C2 Tail Mount to line up the front 2 edges of your tail mount using the alignment tabs on the mount. Using the other hand, slowly tilt the rear of the mount down while simultaneously aligning the rear edge.

Ensure the mount is aligned prior to the 3M adhesive making contact with your tail, as readjusting the mount afterwards will decrease the adhesion properties.

Step 4

Press firmly on your C2 Tail Mount with downwards pressure, and hold it for 30 seconds.

Once the 3M adhesive makes contact, it will instantly hold onto your fairing.

Please allow a minimum of 20 minutes after this step before attaching your GoPro, Insta360 or other action camera to the mount.

Step 5

After the wait time for adhesion, attach your action camera with the fins facing the rear of the bike and adjust the angle to your liking.

Additional Notes

Per 3M, at room temperature approximately 50% of the ultimate adhesion strength will be achieved after 20 minutes, 90% after 24 hours and 100% after 72 hours.

We recommend installing this in temperatures between 18°C and 38°C, and waiting at least 4 hours before attaching your action camera for a ride. If you're installing this product in a cooler climate, we also recommend to hold pressure on the mount overnight with painters tape.

Thank you for supporting C2 Mounts. your small Canadian business by riders, made for riders. Please note that we always recommend tethering your action camera to a secure part of your motorcycle.
